Do you feel stuck in the same patterns, overwhelmed by where to begin? Do you feel like you should have it all figured out, but just not sure how to make things better? Sometimes we know that something in life or relationships isn't working and we just aren't sure how to change it or what to do. I believe therapy should meet people where they are. I use a collaborative, individualized approach to help clients better understand the patterns affecting their lives and relationships, recognize their strengths, and find practical ways to move forward. Whether working with an individual, couple, or family, I want clients to have a space where they can be honest about what is and isn't working without feeling judged or pressured to have all the answers. My goal is for clients to better understand themselves and their relationships, strengthen their communication and coping skills, and feel more confident navigating challenges. Meaningful change doesn't have to happen all at once. Sometimes it starts with understanding where you are, deciding where you'd like to go, and figuring out the next step together.
I am a Licensed Social Worker and earned a Master of Social Work from Cleveland State University and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Muskingum University. My clinical work is grounded in evidence-based approaches, including Levels 1 and 2 of the Gottman Method, Family Systems, Trauma-Informed Care, and Mindfulness-Based Interventions. I specialize in working with couples navigating relationship concerns, communication and conflict, family concerns and ADHD. I also enjoy working with individuals who need support in the areas of trauma and stress related concerns, parent and caregiver support, mood disorders and life transitions.
I've always been a bit of a "jack of all trades." I earned my degree in biology, served as an officer in the U.S. Navy, and even earned my Advanced Esthetician license before ultimately finding my passion in social work and therapy. One of my favorite quotes comes from Rear Admiral Grace Hopper: "The most dangerous phrase in the language is, 'We've always done it this way.'" It fits my love of learning, trying new things, and never being afraid to take a different path.
